Treatments for Anxiety

Anxiety disorder is having a feeling that there is a danger even though there is no danger around the person. In this context, feelings of anxiety, fear and tension begin to manifest themselves. As a result, the person shows an act of avoiding certain situations and events. This action is called anxiety disorder.

The first thing to do in case of anxiety disorder is to consult psychiatry. After applying to psychiatry, the patient undergoes a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation. Necessary examinations are made to see if the symptoms of anxiety disorder are caused by a physical disorder.

Generally, patients with Generalized Anxiety Disorder ( GAD ) benefit from treatment. One or both of these methods can work at the same time. The treatment methods are generally beneficial and improving for the patients. It is the most sensible option to decide with your doctor which treatment method is more suitable for you. Treatment that is appropriate for one patient may not be useful for the other.

In the treatment of GAD, the patient take anxiolytic and antidepressant drugs.

The main purpose of the treatment is to prevent the anxiety and anxiety we mentioned. There is no risk of addiction or serious side effects. When using these medicines, you should definitely use them at the times and doses recommended by your doctor. If you use the medication as prescribed by the doctor, you will have no problems.

You will see the effect of the medication a few weeks after you start using the medications prescribed by the doctor. Drug therapy should continue until symptoms of anxiety disorder are normalized. After a complete recovery, treatment should be continued for another year.

Wait at least 2 to 4 weeks to see the effect of the drugs.The medications that the doctor gives you have no effect of suddenly relieving.

In addition, the first time you use medication for treatment, there may even be an increase in symptoms you normally complain about. This increase is specific only to the first days of drug use.

When discontinuing medication, you should consult your doctor and discuss this and act on his / her recommendations.

Contrary to common knowledge, antidepressants do not show their effects by numbing people. When you use antidepressants, your thinking or decision-making mechanism never breaks down or fails. This is a misunderstanding about antidepressants.
