Hypnosis to Quit Smoking


Smoking is one of the leading causes of death in the United States. It’s also expensive, and it can make you smell bad. But most importantly, it’s addictive. Trying to quit cold turkey is difficult for many people but hypnosis may be an option that could help you finally kick your smoking habit for good! 

Hypnosis techniques are used by professionals like psychologists, psychiatrists, nurses, and teachers to relax patients or students during medical procedures or lessons on a daily basis. Hypno-therapists typically use scripts that guide their clients into a deep state of relaxation where they enter a trance-like state which makes them more receptive to suggestions from the therapist about how to change certain behaviors such as quitting smoking.

Why smoking is so dangerous?

Smoking kills about 1.7 million people each year. Smoking tobacco is the most common preventable cause of death around the world with respiratory being the leading cause of smoking-related deaths. Harmful chemicals in cigarettes are hard to breathe, which may also lead to many other health problems such as heart disease, lung diseases, intestinal cancers and blood cancers among others.

Addiction is a subconscious concept. That’s why it’s hard to quit addiction and particularly in this article smoking. One of the reasons for not being able to quit smoking is that it’s more psychological than physical. People usually think it relaxes them, they’d feel less anxious.

Habit or Addiction/Dependence

Nicotine-dependent people consider smoking as a habit rather than an addiction. The difference is easy to understand. While our bodies do not give negative reactions when we do not apply our habits one day, when we do not use the substance we depend on one day, our body encourages us to consume this substance by reacting with a variety of events that vary from person to person.

We see that smokers check if there is a shop around where they can supply cigarettes when they notice that there are few left in their packets, and if they can’t have them, they experience tension. This is the simplest indication that smoking is not a simple habit but a substance addiction that needs treatment.

Hypnosis Helps Quit Smoking

Hypnosis is the most effective way to quit smoking habit. The importance of it differs from person to person. In the hypnosis method, the person takes appropriate subliminal suggestions. They quit smoking without being bothered, overwhelmed, or irritated. Moreover, thanks to hypnotic suggestions, this technique prevents weight gain.
