What is Intestinal Bacteria?
Intestinal Bacteria, in the small intestine and colon, the intestinal microbiota is primarily contained, and the stomach acids render the stomach wall essentially sterile. It is spread between the gastrointestinal tract lumen and the protective biofilm developed on its inner wall by the intestinal mucus (intestinal epithelium). The function of the intestinal microbiota is therefore becoming increasingly apparent. Digestive, respiratory, immune and neurological processes are now understood to play a part. Dysbiosis, i.e., qualitative and functional dysfunction of the intestinal flora, is a serious way of explaining the cause of such diseases, particularly those with autoimmune or inflammatory processes underlying them. In biological and medical science, this has been a core concept. This article contains the Effects of Intestinal Bacteria on Mind Functions.
According to a recent study by researchers at UCLA, there is a link between intestinal bacteria and mind function. This emphasizes the direct effect of nutrition on behavior. A small study revealed that women who regularly consume probiotics have a change in their mental function. Read the article written by UCLA Health magazine below. 36 Women between the ages of 18 to 55 partake in this small-scale study. The researchers divided the women into 3 groups. The first group ate a special yogurt, a mixture of probiotics, which positively affected the small intestine. The other group ate a dairy yogurt that tasted like yogurt and looked like yogurt but had no probiotics. The 3rd group did not eat any yogurt. The study took 4 weeks.
UCLA researchers are looking for ways to identify major chemicals produced by intestinal bacteria that can send signals to the mind. The researchers also plan to conduct a study to determine whether individuals with signs of stomach and intestinal discomforts, such as abdominal pain, abdominal distension, and variable bowel movements, have anything to do with improvements in the mind response.
Mayer also points out that other researchers investigate the possible benefits of certain probiotics in yogurt on their moods. He underlines that other nutritional strategies may be useful.
In Brainfit, we observe that proper nutrition and bowel health play a developing role, especially for children with ADHD, autism, and learning disabilities.
