Toilet Training in Childeren

Mankind, from the moment of birth, finds itself on a line of development. In this line, there are a number of things that “need to accomplish.. These are called “developmental tasks in psychology. Toilet training is also one of the important tasks.

What is Toilet Training ?

Toilet training is that the child can go to the toilet and make his / her toilet by self-awareness without anyone’s help and reminder. .

Toilet training is an important process for the psychological development of children. Many factors are effective on the age at which education starts and the time it takes to gain the habit. Many factors such as education level of the mother, sociocultural structure of the family, income level, methods used, living environment, type of toilet, whether the educator is knowledgeable, the child’s psychological status and gender play a role in acquiring the toilet habit.

Toilet training does not mean that the mother and father notice the child’s needs and send them to the toilet by stimulating them. The child must realize this and make a habit of it. Gaining toilet habit is an important developmental event in the child’s life.

In toilet training, it is important that both the child and the parents are ready. Girls can complete toilet training a few months earlier than boys. Organs related to toileting in children develop at this age. In addition, children should not be forced to toilet training before these ages.

The second age can be called the first puberty. It is common for children of this age to say “no her to everything; they may be someone who constantly uses the word “mine, and wants to make their own decisions. They may perceive their suggestions as make your poop here as an intervention to yourself, to your body.

What can parents do in toilet training?

Parents should have a plan that is arranged or adjusted to suit their own children. Expert support can also be obtained. First, when, how to start should be considered.

Parents need to be intensely caring, willing and patient while giving toilet training and trying to gain this habit. Children may occasionally miss it under this habit. This is considered normal and it is absolutely necessary not to apply negative attitudes such as anger or punishment to the child. Because while trying to control the muscles he has just started to use, the incontinence is very normal and will eventually improve.

It is very important to motivate the child at this stage of education. It will motivate him to be praised and appreciated in every positive move about the toilet. Being spoken, encouraged and constantly in contact also affects the child in a positive way.

You can reward them in every positive behavior, and it is more appropriate to choose non-financial rewards. Appreciating the child will have a positive impact. It should also be remembered that sometimes toilet training can also be reversed. The success or failure of the child should in no way be compared to his intelligence.

When to Apply for an Expert?

  • After a long time, months later, if there is still difficulty in training and getting used to,
  • If the child shows resistance and holds his poo and pee,
  • If the child is older than 3 to 4 years old and is still can’t go toilet by themselves
  • Other psychological can be the reasons as well. (They may not want tobe alone, they request to take care.) In such cases it is necessary to get support from an expert.
